Detective Science

Have you ever wondered how detectives and forensic science technicians find and examine evidence? Join us and learn how detectives investigate crime scenes in hands-on labs. Subjects such as chemistry, biology, and physics are behind the scenes in investigations, substance analysis, fingerprints, DNA, breaking glass, footprints, and more. Students will learn the techniques and science that are used to solve crimes and put those skills to use in hands-on activities in the classroom.

Culinary Expressions

Our curriculum covers basic nutrition while teaching our students how to cook. Far more than an “activity” – these lessons are packed with education.

Alternatives are demonstrated for all recipes, teaching the students options. All lessons are gluten free, dairy free, peanut free, with alternatives taught for egg free, nut free, and grain free. Options are important! Freedom comes from choice.

The philosophy that this program is built on is that with courage, confidence and creativity, kids will learn not only how to cook, but how to take care of themselves, make choices for their needs, and problem solve.

Join us as we explore the wonderful world of animation. We will discover the history of animation around the world, how animation is made, and making our own animations. Students will learn about various animation techniques, such as storyboarding, perspective, action blocking, and editing. By the end of the class, students will have a full flipbook story as well as completion of a digital animation project.

When they use paints, glue, and markers, children are planning, trying out new things and solving problems. As they mix paints they learn to understand that one thing can make changes in another.This class will introduce all of the above through the use of mixed media.

In Crockpot Cooking, students will learn how to prepare and cook various meals, all in a crockpot, and will be able to bring home dinner for the family at the end of class each week. Some of the recipes we will explore include soups, pasta, pot pies, chili, and much more!
