I am so grateful that I now get to teach handbuilding ceramics classes! My greatest supporter is my husband Seth. We have two doodles named Ron and Abe. Together we enjoy traveling, coffee, and rock climbing!

Hello, my name is Heidi Couch. I am a Kindergarten teacher at Oxford Hybrid Primary (OHP). I have been with OHP four years; my first year was spent teaching the 3rd and 4th grade split class and I have enjoyed being in the Kindergarten classroom the past three years. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University. My career in education began over 30 years ago while working at the United Cerebral Palsy Center’s Preschool program. Since then, my journey through the education world has led me to work with elementary age children in various capacities including substitute teaching (long and short term) for over seven years while raising our three children. During those years, I longed for my own classroom and the ability to form relationships with my students as well as their families. OHP has offered me that opportunity and I have cherished every moment of my time here. The flexibility our program offers both parents and children is wonderful. I love being a part of children’s early learning years, watching them explore how to learn and make friends is such a joy. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Bryan for 30 years. As I stated, we have three fabulous adult children. Jared, who lives in Florida with our beautiful daughter-in-law Kara. Leah, is a student at Oakland University’s School of Nursing, and Elliana, our youngest who is an education major at Spring Arbor University. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with our family, reading, serving in our church, exercising, singing, and being in the great outdoors. I truly enjoy working with children and am passionate about being a positive role model and influence for the next generation.

Hello, My name is Jeanne Hotchkiss.
I am the Founder and Co-Director of The Hybrid Learning Company. I’m married to my wonderful husband, Lee. We have three amazing children, Dominic, Eden and Maranda- all of which I have had the privilege to homeschool over the years!
My educational background is in Social Work. As I worked on completing an internship at Daniel Axford Elementary in 2004 I was employed there as the Family Service Coordinator for the Head Start Program. This job allowed me to work closely with families of preschoolers and help meet their needs as well as coordinate programs and events for them. My background in preschool education and social work as well as the years spent homeschooling my own children were a wonderful preparation to walk through the door God opened for me to start the Hybrid Program in 2018. I truly enjoy pioneering this new pathway of education and cannot wait to watch it continue to grow as more and more families learn about the freedom and academic creativity that hands on hybrid schooling provides!
I’m Hollee Keel. In June of 2020, I retired from 30 years of teaching in Oak Park, Michigan. I taught grades 1-5, primarily first grade for the last 10 years. In the fall of 2020, I started teaching at Oxford Hybrid Primary School as I was not quite ready to “fully” retire.
I have taught 3 rd grade science, reading, math and social studies, developmental kindergarten and kindergarten science, first grade reading and fourth grade reading. It is an absolute pleasure working with smaller groups of students after teaching with 25-30 students in a class! I live in Metamora, Michigan with my husband and three dogs. My daughter is married and lives in Lapeer, Michigan with her family. During my free days, I help my 92 year -old mother by grocery shopping, doing laundry, driving to doctor appointments and playing cards. She is a retired elementary teacher as well and inspired me to follow in her footsteps. She still gives me pointers. I love to work in my perennial gardens, camp “glamp” with my husband, and sing with the worship team at Lakepoint Community church. My husband and I are currently in the process of building a new house in Metamora with some extra property for our dogs to run. Retirement is turning out to be very busy and satisfying!
