Jeanne Hotchkiss

Hello, My name is Jeanne Hotchkiss.

I am the Founder and Co-Director of The Hybrid Learning Company.

I’m married to my wonderful husband, Lee. We have three amazing children, Dominic, Eden and Maranda- all of which I have had the privilege to homeschool over the years!

My educational background is in Social Work. As I worked on completing an internship at Daniel Axford Elementary in 2004 I was employed there as the Family Service Coordinator for the Head Start Program. This job allowed me to work closely with families of preschoolers and help meet their needs as well as coordinate programs and events for them.

My background in preschool education and social work as well as the years spent homeschooling my own children were a wonderful preparation to walk through the door God opened for me to start the Hybrid Program in 2018.

I truly enjoy pioneering this new pathway of education and cannot wait to watch it continue to grow as more and more families learn about the freedom and academic creativity that hands on hybrid schooling provides!

Amie Gamache

I am Amie Gamache and I teach the DK and Kindergarten students. I also teach an upper elementary STEM elective at Legacy Hybrid. I have over 27 years of full-time teaching experience, 9 years in Flint Community Schools, and 18 years at local private schools.  I also occasionally teach Early Childhood majors as an adjunct faculty member at Rochester University. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood from Oakland University.

I left full time teaching in the Spring of 2021 and enrolled my youngest daughter in the Oxford Primary Hybrid for 5th grade.  We had a wonderful and restful year and I fell in love with the hybrid homeschool model.  I was delighted to see Legacy Hybrid Primary open up in Rochester this year and join this amazing team.

My husband Todd and I have lived in Lake Orion for 30 years and we have 3 daughters.  Jhenna will graduate from Michigan Tech as an electrical engineer this spring.  Tia is a first year junior at Oakland University studying Accounting and Marketing. My youngest daughter Elle is completing her 6th grade year at Dragonfly Secondary Hybrid in Oxford and she enjoys fencing and art.

Ellen Sullivan

I’m Mrs. Ellen Sullivan. I’ve taught at Oxford Hybrid Primary since it opened in 2018, and at Legacy Hybrid since it opened in 2022 (mainly teaching 1st and 2nd grade language arts, math and social studies during those years).

The majority of my teaching experience is in kindergarten through 2nd grade, but I do have some experience in upper elementary as well. I love to use hands-on games and activities as much as possible! Before coming to the hybrid program, I taught in multiple Michigan school districts since 2001, and still maintain my elementary teaching certification. I also enjoy participating in curriculum work and tutoring as well when I’m not teaching at the hybrid schools.

I graduated from Michigan State University for both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education, and consider myself to be a lifelong learner, always looking to improve my teaching. I absolutely love being a part of the hybrid homeschool programs!

While away from school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, friends, dog, cat, reading and traveling.

Heidi Couch

Hello, my name is Heidi Couch. I am a Kindergarten teacher at Oxford Hybrid Primary (OHP). I have been with OHP four years; my first year was spent teaching the 3rd and 4th grade split class and I have enjoyed being in the Kindergarten classroom the past three years. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University.

My career in education began over 30 years ago while working at the United Cerebral Palsy Center’s Preschool program. Since then, my journey through the education world has led me to work with elementary age children in various capacities including substitute teaching (long and short term) for over seven years while raising our three children.  During those years, I longed for my own classroom and the ability to form relationships with my students as well as their families. OHP has offered me that opportunity and I have cherished every moment of my time here. The flexibility our program offers both parents and children is wonderful. I love being a part of children’s early learning years, watching them explore how to learn and make friends is such a joy.

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Bryan for 30 years. As I stated, we have three fabulous adult children. Jared, who lives in Florida with our beautiful daughter-in-law Kara. Leah, is a student at Oakland University’s School of Nursing, and Elliana our youngest who is an education major at Spring Arbor University. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with our family, reading, serving in our church, exercising, singing, and being in the great outdoors. I truly enjoy working with children and am passionate about being a positive role model and influence for the next generation.
